About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and versatile Occupational Therapist to provide therapy services to individuals across the lifespan, including children, adults, and seniors. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing treatment interventions that promote functional independence, mobility, and overall quality of life. The ideal candidate will have a broad range of skills and the ability to tailor interventions to meet the unique needs of each patient, ensuring that individuals of all ages can lead fulfilling, independent lives.

Key Responsibilities:

Assessment and Evaluation:
Conduct comprehensive evaluations of children’s developmental, physical, and sensory abilities.
Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on assessment results.
Regularly review and adjust treatment plans to reflect progress and evolving needs.

Therapeutic Interventions:
Provide one-on-one and group therapy sessions to address motor skills, sensory integration, cognitive development, and daily living activities.
Utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques and activities tailored to each child’s needs and goals.
Support children in improving fine and gross motor skills, coordination, and sensory processing.

Family and Caregiver Collaboration:
Educate and train families and caregivers on strategies to support the child’s therapy goals at home.
Provide guidance and resources to help families navigate their child’s needs and progress.

Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of therapy sessions, progress notes, and treatment outcomes.
Prepare and submit reports as required for evaluations, insurance claims, and interdisciplinary team meetings.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
Communicate with other healthcare professionals, such as physical therapists, speech therapists, and pediatricians, to coordinate care.
Participate in team meetings and case discussions as needed.
Supervise 1 COTA, providing documentation feedback, guidance, and overall oversight.

Professional Development:
Stay informed about advancements in pediatric occupational therapy practices and research.

Requirements

  • Education & Licensure:

    • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.

    • Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT).

    • Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) preferred.

  • Experience:

    • At least 2 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist, with experience working across multiple age groups (pediatrics, adults, geriatrics).

    • Experience in a variety of settings (e.g., outpatient, inpatient, schools, home health, rehabilitation centers) is preferred.

  • Skills & Abilities:

    • Strong clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for a diverse age group.

    • Ability to design and implement customized treatment plans for individuals ranging from infants to elderly.

    • Expertise in adaptive techniques, assistive technology, and rehabilitation equipment.

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and families of all ages.

    • Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team (e.g., physical therapists, speech therapists, physicians).

    • Strong documentation and time management skills, with attention to detail in patient records.

  • Knowledge:

    • Familiarity with developmental milestones, common conditions across all ages, and age-appropriate interventions.

    • Knowledge of relevant legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, ADA).

    • Understanding of insurance documentation and billing practices.

    • Knowledge of sensory integration, motor skills development, and cognitive rehabilitation techniques.

    • Flexible and adaptable to work with various ages, abilities, and needs.

    • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to lift and assist patients when necessary, especially in rehabilitation and mobility tasks.

    • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.

    • Ability to perform physical tasks (e.g., assist with exercises, positioning).
